תערוכת צבע בלאמו – Colour in Lamu

Lamu is an island town laid back in the heat of the Indian Ocean along the northern coast of Kenya. There are no cars in town and the pace there is slow and relaxed, too slow for most outsiders coming for a brief visit.

The light and colours of Lamu do not give the eye respite, the sea breeze, the scent of jasmine, and that intentional soft touch of a woman, clad in traditional attire, passing by in the narrow alley, affect all the senses encouraging the creative eye to search for Lamu’s hidden sensuality.

Lamu has deep undertones and undercurrents, which are revealed to the sensitive artist, only after patiently peeling back layer after layer of color, tone, and texture.

Lamu thus becomes more than a mere place but a concept in sensuality.

Moshe Finkel, with the colors of his frames, manages to uncover this hidden sensuality, and reveals the true depth of the concept of Lamu. But Lamu for him is only an excuse to express his concept of Color.
